Inspection

Industrial Repairs
The Industrial Repairs department performs various inspections and tests for the maritime and industrial sectors, both at our facility in Middelburg and on-site at your location. We employ certified inspectors trained by Aboma. They can carry out the following services for you:

  • Load testing (testing structures or equipment under load)
  • Inspection and testing of equipment, such as deck cranes, pallet frames, etc.
  • Welding inspections

Construction Equipment
Our Construction Equipment department conducts a wide range of crane inspections, both on our premises and on-site. Our certified inspectors, trained by Aboma, are qualified to inspect virtually any type of construction equipment, including:

  • Excavators
  • Wheel loaders
  • Material handlers
  • Cranes
  • Overhead cranes
  • Aerial work platforms
  • Work baskets

We have an extensive range of test weights and a certified force gauge available. Should any deficiencies be found, they can often be resolved immediately in our workshop or on location.

Cab Inspection (ROPS and FOPS Certification)
In addition to crane and equipment inspections, we also offer ROPS (Roll Over Protective Structure) and FOPS (Falling Object Protective Structure) certifications. When a machine is modified, safety regulations and the requirements of the Machinery Directive necessitate re-testing and re-certification.

Our Construction Equipment department specializes in modifying cabins—whether raising or lowering—and can also take care of ROPS and/or FOPS certification.

  • A ROPS test checks whether the cabin can withstand a full machine rollover.
  • A FOPS test assesses the structure’s ability to withstand falling objects.

At our location, we have our own test setup for ROPS and FOPS evaluations. Upon successful testing and Aboma approval, an EC type-examination certificate is issued, ensuring you have the required legal coverage for the modified machine.
