Commissioned by the Gemeente Vlissingen, we have completed the restoration of the Betje Wolff fountain at Bellamypark and the public water tap at Boulevard Evertsen (near Pier 7). As part of the dismantling works, we renewed and, where necessary, modified the complete piping system of the fountain structure. The mounting points were also redesigned and reinforced to ensure the pipework remains securely and reliably fixed for years to come.

In addition, we modified and renewed various supports that connect the components. This not only improves the structural integrity but also results in a safer and more maintenance-friendly setup. The lighting installation was fully overhauled: brackets were replaced and the cabling completely renewed. As a result, the lighting now operates optimally and is prepared for long-term, trouble-free use.

Furthermore, all water supply connections were adjusted. The fountain and the water tap were fully blasted, carefully primed, and spray-painted in their original color. These distinctive elements of Vlissingen have therefore been restored both technically and visually.

With these extensive works completed, these icons of Vlissingen have been made future-proof in both appearance and functionality — ready to remain a recognizable and beloved part of the city for many years to come.

Recently, we were asked by the Municipality of Vlissingen to restore the lighthouse on the Keizersbolwerk in Vlissingen. A special project that we carried out with great dedication.

The work started with the removal of the old layers of paint and replacing parts that were too worn out, such as the platform, the cabin, and the roof. Thanks to precise measurements and craftsmanship, these parts were accurately replicated and seamlessly fitted into the original structure. After all the grinding, welding, and assembly work, the lighthouse regained its original colors and was rebuilt. As a finishing touch, it was treated and thoroughly inspected. Our entire team worked on this iconic structure with pride and joy.

At the festive reinstatement, organized by the Municipality of Vlissingen, Mr. Boonman (Alderman for Cultural Heritage) emphasized the importance of preserving cultural and maritime heritage for the city. Thanks to this restoration, the lighthouse can continue to shine as a beacon on the boulevard for many years to come.

Below is a short summary of this special project:

Together with our sister company Van den Heuvel from Werkendam, we have adapted a Liebherr LH60C material handling machine. This project concerns a fixed cabinriser of 1300 mm. We were allowed to carry out this project for Paans van Oord.

After we have produced the cabinriser in our workshop in Middelburg, the cabinriser was transported to Werkendam. Additionally, the craftsman have carried out welding and construction work, such as manufacturing an access ladder with handrails. The electrical cables and hydraulic hoses have also been extended and connected. The cabin was equipped with a luxurious ergonomic seat. After completing this work, the machine was moved to the paint shop so the cabineriser could be painted in the colors of Paans van Oord.

The photos on the left give you an impression of the process in the workshop.

We visited Herstaco B.V. in Middelburg, where the new Sennebogen 683 is hard at work. The machine is used for loading and unloading both prime and secondary quality steel pipes.

We wish them many safe and productive hours with this impressive machine!
